NORTHVIEW/KODAK FIRE DEPARTMENT

Position:      Firefighter, Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary:         $42,007.68

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age

Be a high school graduate or equivalent

Be a citizen of the United States

Have a valid Tennessee driver’s license

Not have been convicted of, or plead guilty to, or entered a plea of nolo contender to any felon charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substances.

Not have been released or discharged under anything other than honorable discharge from any armed forces of the United States.

Have at least 1 year of fire related experience with Certification in Basic/Live Firefighting ( including a live burn Certificate prior to start date)

After having met the above requirements, candidates must successfully complete the following:

Written examination and a timed physical agility test (waiver from Licensed Physician required prior to testing).

Oral interview board composed of a combination of departmental officers and members of the Board of Directors

Pass a post-employment-offer Drug Screen and Medical Examination

A comprehensive background check, including but not limited to, criminal, financial, and personal history.

Successful candidates must either possess or achieve within two years from date of hire and thereafter maintain throughout employment:

FFII Certification by the TN Commission on Firefighting.

Intro to Pump Operations, Vehicle Extrication, and Rapid Intervention Team Operations.

CPR Certification, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Emergency Medical Responder.
